Ci sono sempre state fotografie in giro per casa. Ho iniziato a farne da ragazzo. Varie perplessità sul significato di ciò che si pensa e si fa si sono, per così dire, estese nei miei lavori. Fin dai primi '70 mi sono interessato a immagini con elementi che cercano di trovare una sistemazione logica, un po' rebus enigmistici, distaccati o ironici. Ma anche le vicende che ho vissuto sono diventate narrazioni fotografiche. Qualche situazione è diventata graphic novel. Nel tempo mi sono interessato sempre di più al volto. Quando mi riesce si potrebbe mettere così:

...indubbiamente l’ampiezza di sognificato è il carattere preminente del concetto di motivazione...

Forse perché gli incastri estetici fanno dell’interpretazione logica una riduzione eccessiva, anche inutile. È semplicemente un viaggio nella mente, qualche momento sospeso dagli inciampi analitici e mescolato alla necessità di rendermi spaesato viaggiando nel mondo.

Sono finito per usare sempre di più la fotografia come taccuino di situazioni proposte dal caso e dalla necessità. Dal 2006 metto le immagini in forma di racconto. Anche per questo ha fondato Tukultu Bitrù: una vera falsa casa editrice.
